In the soft glow of the hay field, she danced and twirled in the sunset. The field was swollen with the ripening hay - it rippled and churned like a sea of green and gold, ready for harvest. Her skirt caught the breeze and billowed around her. Laughing, she tossed her hair before darting away through the grasses. She dipped and twirled, another blossom swaying in the sun kissed fields of early June. The golden sun swelled and gleamed brighter as it edged toward the horizon. Beneath its golden glow, she trailed her gentle finger through the hay, fingering snowy petals and lavender blossoms. She paused, sinking down among the flowers. Gazing upward, her face filled with youthful wonder as the rosy sunset settled on her cheeks. As the sun sank beneath the horizon, the sky above her was transforming from brilliant gold and peach into soft hues of lavender, rose, and violet. The hayfields, dotted with daisy, flocks, and purple vetch rippled in the gentle breeze that blew across the hills. It tugged her skirts as she skipped through the wildflowers. She began to twirl again, slower this time, spinning sunset into twilight as the sky above the fields shifted from cotton candy to mellow shades of purple and grey. Her slender form nearly a silhouette against the darkening sky. As the light deepened and dusk crept in, she slowed her pace. She wandered dreamily now, the gentle warmth of her skirt soft against the mellowing colors of the coming night. The shadows crept longer, a star blinked faintly through the dimming sky. Gathering her skirts she turned toward home. Behind her, the stalks of hay rippled in the deepening shadows, expectant of the coming harvest.
